Saxophone - Robert Haley

Robert Haley believes that saxophonists deserve high quality instruction that is on par with the finest instrumental studios.  The saxophonist should be a complete musician who can function in a variety of musical situations and not just play the latest social media craze. To that end, a comprehensive curriculum has been developed which includes the establishment of proper playing fundamentals, music reading ability, rhythmic understanding, knowledge of scales and arpeggios, and the promotion of artistic growth and musicianship. These concepts are introduced through the use of carefully chosen and sequenced study materials and solo literature, appropriate for every stage of development.

Robert Haley is the owner of Classic Winds and has offered private instruction to students of all levels since 1979. He is also a founder of the Metro Saxophone Symposium, the annual saxophone workshop for advancing saxophonists. Mr. Haley holds the bachelor and master of music degrees from the University of Georgia. Early saxophone studies from middle through high school were with Bob Cowles, and he has been a frequent attendee at many week-long workshops of the legendary saxophonist Sigurd Rascher. Mr. Haley has also been instructor of saxophone at Georgia State University in Atlanta from 1991-1999.

Solo and chamber music performances have taken him all over the country. As a founding member of the Atlanta Saxophone Quartet , he and the quartet were invited by his mentor, Sigurd Rascher, to perform as featured guest artists at Yale University, as part of the Mr. Rascher's final North American saxophone workshop.

Mr. Haley's students are routinely selected for positions in district Honor Bands, Georgia All-State bands, the Georgia Governor's Honors Program, and university bands in schools/departments of music across the country.

Piano - Pamela Kent

Pamela Kent has studied music for 36 years. Born and raised in the Atlanta area, she studied music at Clayton State College where she earned a Bachelor’s in Piano Performance. She has been teaching piano music lessons since she was 16, and continues to gain great fulfillment in teaching today. Pamela has performed with the Cobb Wind Symphony, as well as Atlanta Community Symphony Orchestra, along with accompanying for a variety of venues. Her passion for music spread into the dramatic arts in high school, and continued from there. From music directing, to enjoying life in the orchestra pit, she has continued to feed her passion. From musical theater, to classical and jazz, the moniker “Musician” definitely fits.

Guitar - Richard Ross

Mr. Ross is a veteran, experienced teacher in many styles of guitar performance, including jazz and classical guitar. He holds degrees from the Bachelor of Music in Composition from Berklee College of Music in Boston, the Masters of Music in Jazz Pedagogy from the University of Miami, and the Master of Music in Exceptional Child Education from Florida Atlantic University.

Mr. Ross's musical life began by studying the guitar in elementary school, participating in band in middle and high school, performing club dates in high school with area musicians, and preparing arrangements for the local jazz band to be performed live and on radio. Richard has studied guitar with Vincent Bredice, and early music and composition studies with Joseph Iadone. He has also attend seminars with guitar greats Joe DiOrio and Tal Farlow.
