About Classic Winds Music

Classic Winds Music opened in February of 2000, offering families in this area a local music store which focused on high quality music instruction, instrument repair, school instrument rental and music retail. The music retail environment has drastically changed in recent years, but Classic Winds commitment to instruction, repair and rental has not.

If you are considering having your instrument repaired here, let me share some thoughts about how we operate. It is important for clients to trust their service provider, to have their instrument repaired locally, to have the repair completed in a reasonable amount of time, to receive a fair price, and to have it repaired by someone who understands the playing needs of students, amateurs and professionals. So, your woodwind repairs are performed in the local workshop of the owner, Robert Haley, and our client list includes many satisfied players who own all levels of student and professional instruments, both vintage and modern.  Each instrument receives the utmost care and attention to detail that you should expect in a reputable repair shop. We don't send your instrument across the state to a depot repair center and we don't group every repair into a corporate pricing scheme. Your instrument will be evaluated for free, recommendations for repair made, and a firm price quote given for each repair.

Since 2010, the repair and restoration of saxophones has become a primary interest of Classic Winds Music  Many fine instruments were made in the past, especially in the USA, and they are relatively plentiful. Many repair shops prefer not to work on these instruments because of their older, unfamiliar designs, their mechanical and intonation issues, and their very poor condition. It takes so much time to repair these vintage pieces that it is not profitable for the shop who is working on lots of school-owned and student instruments. Fortunately for you, we love vintage saxophones and we specialize in restoring them to the highest levels so they can successfully perform in our modern musical environments.
